Sea and nature
in Tuscany
The most beautiful beaches of the area are only a few chilometres from here, and you’ll have plenty of chances to walk, go trekking, cycling or horse riding.
On the coast you’ll find fine sand, often sorrounded by holm and cork oak woods or splendid pine forests, offering you shade during the hottest hours of the day, and wonderful paths to go walking in every season of the year.
You can choose between renting a spot in a bathing establishment or going to a public beach, where various services are granted thanks to the presence of Punto Azzurro stations.
Along the Etruscan Coast the seabeds are perfect for scuba diving and admiring nature from a privileged point of view. Mask and snorkel are enough, but if you are looking for the full experience just head to one of the diving centers which will be able to organize exciting underwater guided tours for you!
Do you prefer looking up? WWF oasis Padule Orti-Bottagone, which registers 231 kinds of birds, is the perfect place for birdwatching lovers.
Moreover, from here it’s easy to sail to one of the wonderful islands of the Tuscan Archipelago: from Piombino, Porto Santo Stefano and Livorno you can set sail to one of the “Venus Pearls”: Elba, Capraia, Gorgona, Montecristo, Giannutri, Giglio and Pianosa, independently or following a guided tour.
